VB School Board votes in favor of recovery school

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Beach School Board has approved a recovery school for teens recovering from substance abuse in a 10-1 vote Tuesday. The school would provide a hybrid learning model for teens recovering from substance abuse and would benefit students in the five Southside Hampton Roads’ cities — Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth and Suffolk. It will lean heavily on virtual learning, occupy the old Great Bridge Middle School in Chesapeake and, ideally, have an enrollment of about two dozen students…
