WASHINGTON – Snow lovers get ready! It’s possible a winter storm system could bring accumulating snow and a wintry mix of precipitation to the Washington, D.C. region next week.
Heavy snow threat Tuesday?
According to the National Weather Service’s Weather Prediction Center, a Hazards Outlook has put D.C. and a large swath of northern Virginia and Maryland under a heavy snow threat by Tuesday of next week.
“We have growing confidence that Tuesday could be a snow day for many of us, or at least a winter weather day,” FOX 5’s Tucker Barnes said.
Snow or wintry mix?
The latest models suggest that snow could potentially begin early Tuesday morning before a transition to rain, snow, and freezing rain for parts of the region from Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.
