‘Safety must not be compromised’: DC-area lawmakers express concern over DOGE interfering with FAA

ARLINGTON, Va. ( DC News Now ) — In the wake of last month’s deadly collision right outside of Regan National Airport (DCA), lawmakers from D.C., Maryland and Virginia are calling on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to ensure flight operations do not return to “business as usual.”

The lawmakers also expressed “serious concern” with the “so-called” Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) interfering with the FAA.

Officials said DOGE “has caused mayhem across the government, from attempting to push out nonpartisan civil servants, to reportedly accessing the U.S. Treasury’s payment system, as well as systems at the Department of Veterans Affairs.”…
