Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Snow That Could Cause Hazardous Conditions During Morning Commute

A Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect from 7am until 11am on Thursday for DC, central, north central, and northern Maryland (including all of Montgomery County), and northern Virginia.

Per the National Weather Service (NWS), “Snow expected. Total snow accumulations up to one inch. Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute. The first snow event will fall during the [Wednesday] evening commute, with temperatures well below freezing.

This will likely cause roads to become very slick during a period of high traffic volume. The second event will impact the Thursday morning commute, causing roads to once again become slick with surface temperatures into the upper teens to low 20s…
