RICHMOND, Va. (7News) — As the Virginia General Assembly’s session came to a close this weekend, lawmakers passed two bills allowing prosecutors to charge drug dealers with involuntary manslaughter if they sold fentanyl-laced drugs leading to death.
It’s a bitter-sweet outcome for Faythe Silveira and her family. Not a day goes by when she doesn’t think about what could have been for her niece, Paula.
“She was definitely impacting a lot of lives. After she passed away, a lot of people came forward and said, ‘She gave me a ride, she would always help me out when I needed help.’ She was just that friendly, outgoing person,” Silveira said. “There was a lot of hope for her future.”…
