Virginia Flood Watch: Up to 4 Inches of Rain Expected in SE VA Through Tonight

Wakefield, VA – A Flood Watch is in effect for southeast Virginia through late tonight as heavy rain threatens to bring flash flooding to low-lying areas. Rainfall totals of 1-2 inches are expected across the region, with localized areas receiving up to 4 inches.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, urban areas, poor drainage zones, and low-lying locations are at the highest risk for flash flooding. Cities including Norfolk, Suffolk, and Williamsburg are among the areas affected by the watch.
