Moyock man arrested on meth and fentanyl charges, bond at $100K

On March 24, 2025 members of the Currituck County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, along with the North Carolina State Bureau of investigation, conducted a search warrant in the Moyock area based on probable cause that the residence contained evidence of narcotics possession and distribution.

During the search, a quantity of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine were seized. Based on these findings, James Edward Hasty, 63, of Moyock, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Trafficking Fentanyl
  • PWISD Methamphetamine
  • Maintaining a Dwelling for Sale and Storage of Controlled Substances.

Hasty is currently being held at the Currituck County Detention Center under a $100,000.00 secured bond…
