PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WWBT)—The Mercy Chefs are heading to Myanmar and Thailand in response to Friday’s devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake.
The Virginia-based disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization is recognized for providing chef-prepared meals in response to emergencies and natural disasters. Mercy Chefs have already been active in Myanmar for over two years as part of their global initiatives, and in light of the recent disaster, the group will increase its efforts to support those in need.
At this time, Mercy Chefs are actively coordinating with local churches and humanitarian partners to distribute hot meals and emergency food supplies to affected communities.
