NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A Norfolk grandmother charged in the death of her 3-month old granddaughter was in court Monday as her case moves forward.

Norfolk Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge Lyn Simmons certified the case against Alvetta Haskins to a grand jury to set a court date.
Haskins has been in custody since her arrest Jan. 1, charged with second-degree murder after being accused of killing her granddaughter, Skylar Mccoy, on or about April 22, 2024.
