VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Crews in Virginia Beach responded to an apartment complex fire in the northwestern Bayside area of the city overnight Thursday.
According to officials, crews were dispatched to the Waterford Apartments in the 5500 block of Bantry Lane just after midnight for the report of a multi-family commercial structure fire. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the two-story apartment complex.
Residents were able to quickly evacuate the building.
