Carnival Cruise Line is bringing back a unique employment experience for would-be cruise workers: the “Funternship” program, which Carnival is launching in five cities.
Per a press release announcement, the initiative will give high school students aged 17 and up six weeks of paid, hands-on experience with Carnival cruise terminal operations. The students will work alongside Carnival’s port services team members, who manage the cruise terminals where passengers board Carnival Cruise Line ships.
Interns will gain insight into Carnival’s homeport operations and will be trained and mentored by Carnival team members. In addition to an hourly wage, interns will be provided with unique experiences, such as a cruise ship tour and lunch and learn sessions to help them advance in their careers…
