CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – A 19-year-old was convicted of second-degree murder and use of a firearm to commit murder for a shooting that occurred in January 2024, according to the commonwealth’s attorney.
Chesapeake police responded to the 4000 block of Schooner Trail around 11 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2024 for the report of someone injured.

Evidence the commonwealth’s attorney gathered determined that Donyae Warren and 17-year-old Maurice Jones, Jr. got into an altercation after Warren told Jones he would not get his gun back.
