RFK Jr. calls rise in autism an ‘epidemic’; local advocates react

NORFOLK, Va. — A recent CDC report found that autism is on the rise among American children, and U.S. Human and Health Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. vowed to find the root cause and any “environmental exposures.”

“We have to recognize that we are doing this to our children,” said Kennedy at an event on Wednesday.

The secretary has previously linked the rise in autism to childhood vaccines, which several studies have debunked. However, in Tuesday’s meeting, Kennedy said he wanted to launch studies into “everything.”…
