NEWPORT NEWS — A Norfolk woman has been identified as the person killed Sunday night in a shooting in Newport News.
Police say Karen Yvonne Watkins, 37, of Norfolk, was shot in the area of 27th Street and Wickham Avenue, in the East End section of the city. Officers responded to the area around 11:21 p.m. Sunday night after a ShotSpotter activation.
