Community rallies around Virginia Beach nonprofit following devastating fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Virginia Beach nonprofit that has supported many local organizations seeks help from the community after a devastating fire to a storage building destroyed vital supplies.

“It has been my passion since the 70s to spay and neuter feral and stray cats,” said Save Them, Spay Them, Love Them founder Lynn Nelson, “because in my opinion, unless we stop the source, all the shelters and all the fosters in the entire area can’t handle what’s out there,” Nelson said.
