At 12 years old, Athena is ready to enjoy her golden years in comfort—and she’s hoping her next chapter will be with you.
Athena is this week’s Pet of the Week at the Virginia Beach SPCA, and she’s everything you’d want in a gentle, loving companion. With her calm nature and soft eyes, she’s the perfect sidekick for lazy afternoons and cozy evenings. She enjoys short walks, soft beds, tasty snacks, and showering you with kisses. If you’re in need of a loyal friend to keep you company during your next TV marathon, Athena would be honored to apply for the job.
Athena does have a bit of arthritis and would thrive in a home without a lot of stairs. She’ll feel most comfortable in a space with plenty of rugs or carpeting to help her move around with ease.
Athena is also part of VBSPCA’s Pets for Patriots program, a wonderful initiative that helps connect military veterans with adoptable shelter pets who are often overlooked—like seniors, large dogs, and special needs animals…
