NORFOLK, Va. — Law enforcement in Virginia Beach and Norfolk laced up for a good cause on Wednesday morning and ran for the Virginia Special Olympics’ annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The torch run began in Virginia Beach with the police department and sheriff’s office and saw a handoff at the Virginia Beach/Norfolk city line with the Norfolk Police Department, sheriff’s office, and Old Dominion University Police Department.
The “Flame of Hope” was carried to Harbor Park, where it was passed to the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office. The run will continue this week through Hampton, Newport News, and Yorktown, which is all leading up to the Special Olympics Virginia Summer Games this weekend at the University of Richmond…
