Coast Guard Rescues Father And Son After Boat Sinks Off Virginia Beach

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two men Thursday morning after their fishing boat began taking on water and sank 34 miles southeast of Virginia Beach.

Jeffrey Hudson, 30, and his father, Robert Hudson, 60, were pulled from a life raft by the crew of the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Calhoun after their 57-foot sport fishing vessel, Turn Me Loose, was lost.

Coast Guard Sector Virginia watchstanders received a distress call at approximately 9:07 a.m. Thursday from the crew of the Turn Me Loose, reporting that the vessel was sinking and they were abandoning ship…
