PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – The Portsmouth Humane Society in Virginia takes in all kinds of smiling furry faces, but their newest guest comes off a little grumpy.“He’s a little grumpy,” said Portsmouth Humane Executive Director Dyanna Uchiek. “His preference is to be just generally left alone.”
He was succeeding at being left alone until one day in late May when he wandered into the Downtown Tunnel.“Portsmouth Animal Control officers responded,” Uchiek said. “They had a little back and forth with him because he was determined to not be caught.”
The tunnel was closed down during rush-hour traffic. Eventually, the officers captured the cat and took him to Portsmouth Humane.
“One of the officers that picked him up called me and said, ‘I’ve got to tell you about this cat. I love him so much! He’s the best cat ever,’” Uchiek said.
