NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Sentara Health is alerting patients about a potential risk to their information, after discovering issues with the employment status of two remote workers.
A letter dated June 9, 2025, obtained by 10 On Your Side, explains that an investigation revealed these employees, hired to process lab requisitions, were not working in the United States, and Sentara could not confirm their identities.
Sentara terminated the employees’ access to the company’s systems. Although while employed, these individuals had access to personal patient information, Sentara officials state they are not aware of any instances of fraud or identity theft resulting from the incident at this time…
