PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — With a majority of the region under an Excessive Heat Warning Monday, many cities are providing people with a place to escape the weather.
According to Super Doppler 10 Meteorologist Jeremy Wheeler, the heat warning is expected to be in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with high temps in the mid-to-upper 90s. Heat indices are anticipated to be between 105-111 degrees. Due to the excessive heat, officials are asking for people to limit outdoor activities and remain hydrated.
