CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Heat-related illnesses are sprouting up across the Commonwealth, causing an alarming amount of people to seek medical attention as stifling temperatures persists.
In fact, within the last decade, these types of visits have occurred more than any other June. That’s according to the Virginia Department of Health, which has been tracking these visits since 2015.
Just this week, Tuesday broke a record, with ERs and urgent cares seeing 239 patients with heat-based sicknesses, now marking the highest daily gross total ever seen by the VDH…
