4 displaced and 1 cat dead in Virginia Beach apartment fire

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Four people have been displaced, and one cat is dead after a fire at an apartment building in Virginia Beach on Thursday afternoon.

According to the Virginia Beach Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a reported multi-unit structure fire in the 3800 block of Keelboat Circle at approximately 3:25 p.m.

Upon arrival, they observed heavy smoke coming from the two-story apartment building. Crews placed water on the fire, and it was officially marked out around 3:50 p.m.
