Violent crime in Norfolk on decline

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — While the temperature is up this summer, crime is down across Norfolk and, according to Police Chief Mark Talbot, it’s at its lowest level in the last five years.

In ‘hardest city in region to police,’ crime in Norfolk trending down

City leaders believe a community intervention program could be part of the reason for that.

“We are moving in a positive direction,” Talbot said.
