The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, warning of dangerously high heat index values across the Eastern Shore.
Forecasters expect heat index values to climb as high as 108 degrees, driven by a combination of soaring temperatures and high humidity. The advisory covers central, eastern, south-central, and southeastern parts of Virginia, putting both Accomack and Northampton Counties at risk for heat-related illnesses.
