1 in custody after child taken from Norfolk home

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Charges are pending for a non-custodial parent who took a 6-year-old child Wednesday evening from the home of his legal guardian, Norfolk Police said. The child was safely located in Suffolk and returned to the legal guardian, according to police.

Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Jernigan Avenue around 6 p.m. after a report of a child taken from the home of his legal guardian by the non-custodial parent, according to Norfolk Police.

The child was found safe in Suffolk a short time later by Norfolk and Suffolk police officers, police said, and was returned to the legal guardian’s care…
