HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — Two people have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Topping Lane that occurred earlier in the year.

According to officials, 19-year-old Izayah Jeanty and 18-year-old Antonette Jefferson were both recently arrested in connection with the April 15 homicide of 21-year-old Jayland Kelley on Topping Lane.
On April 15 around 1:15 p.m., officers with the Hampton Police Division were dispatched to the 1000 block of Topping Lane for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival to the scene, officers found Kelley suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Kelley later died due to his injuries.
As a result of the incident, Jeanty was charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and discharge of a firearm in public. Jefferson was charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
