‘I just couldn’t believe it’: Family gutted over repair shop fire, vows to rebuild

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The owner of the auto repair shop that caught fire in Chesapeake Wednesday morning is still picking up the pieces more than 48 hours later.

Fire at Chesapeake auto repair shop causes road closure on S. Military Hwy

Firefighters were called to the 2900 block of South Military Highway around 5:20 a.m. for reports of a commercial building fire.

The fire had spread to cars on the property and caused the Westbound Lanes of South Military Highway to close for a period of time. It was marked under control around 6 a.m.
