NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Starting as early as Aug. 3, a new traffic pattern will be in place on I-64 east in Norfolk between Patrol Road and Tidewater Drive (exit 277) as construction of the Hampton Roads Express Lanes Norfolk Segment continues.
The traffic pattern is expected to be in place until mid-2026, in which eastbound traffic will be shifted to the outside lanes on the right for continuing roadway work, barrier setting, striping and signage installation.
There will be several overnight ramp closures, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., over the next several weeks:
- on-ramp from Granby Street/Patrol Road
- on-ramp from Little Creek Road
- on- and off-ramps to and from Tidewater Drive (exits 277A/B)
- off-ramp to I-564 west/Granby Street (exit 276)
- on-ramp from I-564 east
All ramps will not be closed at the same time and signal detour routes will be in place to direct drivers…
