PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Several communities throughout the Hampton Roads area are getting ready to participate in National Night Out event.
Portsmouth to hold annual National Night Out event
National Night Out is an annual event first established in 1984 to help promote police-community partnerships with various events throughout all 50 states. The event takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August.
A list of locations and times for the various events throughout the Hampton Roads region can be found below:
- Chesapeake
- Crestwood at Parkside National Night Out — from 5-9 p.m.
- National Night Out at River Walk Parkway — from 5-8 p.m.
- National Night Out at Deep Creek — from 6-8 p.m.
- National Night Out at Hickory — from 6-8 p.m.
- National Night Out at Portsmouth Moose Lodge 898 — from 6-8 p.m.
- Hampton
- Neighborhood Night Out Health and Safety Fair at Hampton Roads Convention Center — from 4-7 p.m.
- Mathews
- National Night Out at Mathews High School — from 4-7 p.m.
- Portsmouth
- National Night Out at Festival Park — from 3-8 p.m.
- Newport News
- National Night Out at the Pearl Bailey Public Library — from 5-7 p.m.
- Norfolk
