NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The USNS Robert F. Kennedy, the Navy’s newest vessel, is set to arrive at Naval Station Norfolk Wednesday, Aug. 13, for the first time.
The ship will make port at 1 p.m., boosting the Navy’s underway replenishment capabilities by bringing another oiler to the fleet.
The vessel, named after the former New York Senator, is the fourth ship in the John Lewis-class and operated by Military Sealift Command. The oiler is also crewed by Civil Service Mariners (CIVMARS)…
