VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Pharrell Williams has introduced “VIRGINIA,” a creative alias, brand, and community platform rooted in his home state.
Williams said the initiative is meant to allow “experimentation, storytelling, and direct connection,” spanning music, fashion, design, and community outreach.
Pharrell posted about the new initiative on his Instagram, and a website, blackyachtrock.com (named after his surprise album release last year), includes limited edition VIRGINIA-branded merchandise. Among the items is the Pharrell-designed VIRGINIA Adistair Jellyfish sneakers from ADIDAS, which promise to offer “a quiet statement in comfort and composure.”…
