CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office announced Monday the launch of their new Veteran PTSD Program, which is designed to help incarcerated veterans heal complex trauma from military service.
Nine veterans are set to meet in the Chesapeake Correctional Center every Wednesday. They will take part in group sessions that integrate behavioral therapy, talk therapy and creative arts therapy.
“This program reflects our duty to serve those who once served us,” Sheriff Dave Rosado said. “These men and women wore our nation’s uniform, and now they’re facing battles no one can see.”…
