NORFOLK, Va. — A Portsmouth man was sentenced to more than four years in prison on Tuesday after being convicted of illegally possessing a firearm.
According to court documents, Norfolk and Portsmouth police arrested Anderson on Feb. 16, 2024, during a traffic stop in Norfolk on outstanding warrants. Investigators said they found a handgun in his backpack equipped with a machine gun conversion device and a 31-round extended magazine. Officers also found more than a pound and a half of suspected marijuana, jars of suspected THC wax, and over $2,200 in cash.
