How Chesapeake is working to help incarcerated veterans break the PTSD cycle

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office is taking a step to address what they say traps many veterans in a cycle of incarceration.

Chesapeake Sheriff Dave Rosado says he’s excited to introduce the Veterans PTSD Program, one of several initiatives already underway at the Chesapeake Correctional Center.

Now in its second phase, the program aims to help men and women facing mental health challenges find a better path forward…
