Chesapeake man sentenced to over 10 years for drug trafficking, firearms charges

CHESAPEAKE, Va. — A Chesapeake man was sentenced Thursday to more than 10 years in federal prison for trafficking cocaine and fentanyl and possessing firearms in connection with drug crimes.

According to court documents, investigators intercepted a parcel containing about a kilogram of cocaine on Oct. 9, 2024. The package, addressed to a fictitious name, was actually meant for the home of 50-year-old Jamey Andre Bennett.

Law enforcement substituted the cocaine with a counterfeit substance and conducted a controlled delivery. Bennett accepted and opened the parcel, and was then taken into custody…
