WALLOPS ISLAND, Va. (WAVY) — A trio of sounding rockets launched from NASA’s Flight Facility on Wallops Island Wednesday night.
According to an X post from the flight facility, the launch of the TOMEX+ sounding rockets “aims to provide the clearest 3D view yet of turbulence in the region at the edge of space.”
Many people throughout the Hampton Roads region and northeastern North Carolina got to see the rockets soar through the sky. Many photos captured the squiggly lines from the launch. Photos from the launch can be seen below:…
