PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – A Portsmouth street was given an honorary name to remember a local reverend at an Aug. 23 event.
The new addition, unanimously approved in a 7-0 vote earlier this year, honors the late Reverend D.A. Peace Sr., pastor of Zion Bethel United Church of Christ for over 35 years.
His daughter Devese J. Peace Branch was the organizer of the event, and she said that this part of Randolph Street will now represent her dad’s love for the city and his selfless service to its residents…
