Former Portsmouth gang member sentenced to over 10 years for 2022 carjacking

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A Portsmouth man and former member of the 600 gang was recently sentenced to over 10 years in prison in connection with a carjacking from 2022.

According to a release, 22-year-old Cedric Rashad Davis Jr., also known as Ced, Luh Ced or Grim Reaper, was sentenced to a total of 10 years and 10 months in prison after being convicted of carjacking and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Court documents state that on July 10, 2022, Davis, while in Virginia Beach, robbed a victim while brandishing a firearm, eventually demanding the keys to the victim’s vehicle. Shortly after this, Davis drove away from the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

The following day, on July 11, Davis could be seen driving the stolen vehicle while holding a handgun during an Instagram stream, the documents revealed. A search of Davis’ phone also found that he attempted to sell the stolen vehicle.

Previously, Davis faced several charges throughout multiple jurisdictions, including weapon-related charges out of Norfolk and robbery and firearm charges out of Portsmouth.
