NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk SPCA is asking for the public’s help after nearly 200 dogs were rescued from a single property in Tennessee.
According to a Facebook post, the Norfolk SPCA, which does not receive any city, state or federal funding, has decided to open its doors to 12-15 of the dogs that were found neglected in Giles County, Tenn.
Part of the post reads the dogs were found with “matted fur, empty food bowls, frightened eyes, horrific dental disease, parasites, and lack of veterinary care.”
So far, more than 130 of the dogs have been rescued from the property for emergency care, but Norfolk SPCA said more dogs remain at the property.
Due to the condition the dogs were found in, the Norfolk SPCA is asking for help with medical care, food, clean beds and rehabilitation. They are also anticipating high vet bills on top of the increase of daily care from the addition of animals…
