Case accusing Norfolk Police of falsifying accident report goes to trial

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A lawsuit accusing several Norfolk Police officers of falsifying a 2020 accident report as part of a retaliation scheme is currently being heard by a federal jury.

Brandon Williams initially sued back in 2022 for nearly $4.6 million, claiming that several officers conspired to downplay the severity of a car accident he was involved in, in order to keep him from bring a claim for his injuries.

While Williams did ultimately sue and settled with the other driver for more than a million dollars, he also claimed the officers intentionally inflicted emotional distress…
