Chesapeake pastor touched by show of support after car crash

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — A Chesapeake pastor says he’s blown away by the support of complete strangers coming together to respond to a fiery car crash near Richmond, saying it shows the inherent goodness of people despite what we see on social media.

Refresh Community Church Associate Pastor Duke White Jr. was there nearly two weeks ago driving on Interstate 295 south at the time when he saw a car veered off the road and crash into the woods near Henrico County, the day after Charlie Kirk was killed. White was driving on I-295 with a colleague at the time.

“We were kind of grieving everything that happened,” White said. “We were seeing all the divide that the nation was kind of in, and then I watched this car veer off and run right into a tree.”

He pulled over and started smashing windows. He found the driver, being suffocated by the airbag. He popped the airbag and tried dragging the driver out…
