Virginia Beach commemorates the 50th anniversary of The Vietnam War’s conclusion with Veterans Week this November

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Virginia Beach’s Veterans Week will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War’s conclusion on Nov. 7 to Nov. 11, according to a press release.

Co-sponsored by the City of Virginia Beach Mayor’s Committee for Veterans, the Hampton Roads Council of Veterans Organizations and Mission: POW-MIA, Veterans Week is a series of events that honor the country’s veterans, prisoners of war and those missing in action. The United States of America Vietnam War Commemoration, a program that recognizes the war’s 50th anniversary, has designated Veterans Week as a national commemoration event.

Veterans Week consists of the following events:

  • The Moving Wall, a replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, will be on display Nov. 7-Nov. 11, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • The Virginia Beach Convention Center will feature three military vehicle displays between Nov. 10 and Nov. 11.
  • The Annual Tidewater Veterans Day Parade will start at 16th Street and Atlantic Avenue on Nov. 11 at 9 a.m.
  • The Annual Tidewater Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at the Tidewater Veterans Memorial on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m.

All of these events are free and open to the public…
