Walk, scholarships honor late Norfolk school counselor’s legacy

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A community walk and scholarship presentation in Norfolk honored the life and work of longtime school counselor April Harmon on Saturday morning.

Harmon, who spent more than 30 years serving Norfolk Public Schools, died in 2022 from ovarian cancer. A breast cancer survivor for two decades, she continued working with students until just two weeks before her passing.
