VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY)– The Virginia Beach Fire Department(VBFD) urges residents to know the risks of lithium-ion batteries.
VBFD teamed up with the National Fire Prevention Association(NFPA), who has been the official sponsor for Fire Prevention Week(FPW) for over a century. The two teamed up to promote this year’s FPW campaign, “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home”.
Majority of electronics, including smartphones, tablets, laptops and toys, are powered by lithium-ion batteries. Lithium-ion batteries can overheat, start a fire, or even explode if they are not used correctly…
