Winterfest on the Wisconsin returns to Norfolk with expanded attractions

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Winterfest on the Wisconsin is returning to Norfolk this November with an expansion and a walking light trail.

According to a release, the event, which starts on Friday, Nov. 14 and runs through Dec. 31, will be doubling in size this year, with a 30,000-square-foot “Kingdom of the Snow Queen” indoor journey. In addition to the new indoor journey, this year will include Downtown Norfolk’s first-ever walking light trail.

Kingdom of the Snow Queen is set to feature talking polar bears, life-sized nutcrackers, a wise old owl and the Snow Queen and will be included with the regular Winterfest admission.

Meanwhile, the new half-mile long walking light trail will start at the Pagoda and go through Town Point Park, featuring hundreds of lights along the Elizabeth River. The trail will be free and open to the public throughout the holiday season, the release states…
