VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – More than 100 Havanese and Biewer Terrier mix dogs were rescued from an alleged large-scale neglect situation in Maryland.
In late August, the Humane World for Animals, formerly called the Humane Society of the United States, assisted the Harford County Sheriff’s Office in rescuing the dogs.
After neighbors reported a smell coming from the home, rescue teams found dogs cramped in kennels malnourished and fighting infections. Reports say some dogs had already died in the kennels.
Currently, six of those dogs are at the Virginia Beach SPCA. They are getting exams, treatments and vaccinations. Jenn Fly runs shelter operations at VB SPCA and said the six new dogs are ready for loving homes…
