While we haven’t had a lot of rain lately, it has been good for the ground that some light precipitation has continued. However, today’s morning commute was just plain nasty!
Drizzle was almost widespread this morning over the area along with a few light rain showers. Winds were out of the north gusting between 25 and 35mph. Temps were in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees. Again…nasty.
This light precipitation will probably continue through around midday. However, I’m hoping some slightly drier comes in during the afternoon. Regardless, we will have a lot of clouds through the day. The area of low pressure is offshore. It will move a little more to the east today but very slowly.
There is a subtle wind shift on the back side. These two features are why our local winds have increased since yesterday. We even had a brief gust to 40mph in Virginia Beach this morning. Winds will gust to 30mph today with some gusts to 35mph possible near the shore.
Temps will stay down. Highs will only be in the mid 60s.
The storm has caused a lot of problems up in the Northeast. Mainly with tidal flooding…
