Man sentenced after pleading guilty to hitting girlfriend with a car in Norfolk in 2024

NORFOLK Va. (WAVY)– A man was sentenced to prison after hitting his girlfriend with a car in 2024.

A judge sentenced 29-year-old Michael Allen Faulkner Jr. to four years in prison after he pleaded guilty to maliciously wounding and assaulting his girlfriend late last year when he attacked her inside a car then later hit her with it.

In December 2024, Faulkner Jr. and his girlfriend were arguing inside a car while Faulkner Jr. was driving. Faulkner Jr. punched her in the face before stopping the car near the intersection Campostella Road and Indian River Road. The victim exited the car and Faulkner Jr. drove off. Moments later Faulkner Jr. returned and stuck the victim with the car and left the scene again. The impact of the hit caused the victim to go over the hood of the car and lose consciousness.

Police were called to the scene and later detained Faulkner Jr., who was walking in the Berkley area. He was read his Miranda rights and taken to the Police Operations Center where he confessed to the crime…
