NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – People in Hampton Roads are feeling the effects of the government shutdown as we enter week three, which was clearly represented at the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore ‘Shutdown Relief Mobile Distribution’ event in Norfolk Friday.

Hours before the foodbank distribution even began, cars were lined up as early as 5:30 a.m. to get fresh produce, protein and even pantry staples.
“It’s a big benefit. It helps the community, [and] helps a lot of people. As you can see,” said Keith Warren, who was waiting in his car.
